Modular Multi-tool
As a project for school, I worked with a team of five Tufts Students to develop a concept and prototype for a modular multi-tool.  The objective of this design was to re-design the multi-tool in order to address the needs of more consumers.

We noticed that individuals who carry multi-tools with them often only use a few of the tools that are provided.  The remaining tools are simply taking up room in their bag or pocket.  We wanted to create a modular tool with all the tools you need and none of what you don't.  To focus our design, we created three consumers that might use our tools.
Keeping these consumers in mind we developed a concept that allows the user to pick a main tool that they use often (pliers, wire strippers, scissors, etc.) and attach an assortment of tools of their choosing to create a customizable, modular multi-tool.  This two chassis system can be easily split into two single chassis as needed.
